I'm calling this the 'Zap Bug' for lack of a better name. I think -- or hope-- everyone has seen this a few times. It seems to be server side, though sometimes it can only be on the client too. I'm not even entirely sure how this happens.

So, I'll explain what I know, assuming someone hasn't seen it. If you go and touch the RC (I've seen it happen through walls and floors), and walk away, you look like you're still getting zapped. The shock doesn't go to anyone in particular, just to  other random team members (I've yet to see it go to a building or an enemy).

If there's a topic on this, please point me to it, as I would kill to help with what I can. I'm going to try to record demos or screenshots of this bug.

Yeah, I've seen it. I don't think I've ever seen it from just the reactor though. Usually happens to me when there's tons of teslas. I'm pretty sure it's clientside.

I need to see if the new (optional) cgame for puretrem takes care of it.

Yeah, I recall these strange particle-like things getting attached to players. One of Odin's maps -- was it Tumbo, Weapons Factory? -- had the pouring lava with particles, which latched on to me on several occasions.

Yeah, that's an annoying one.
It seems that when it happens, some clients can see it, so can't.  And I don't think its guaranteed that the dude its attached to can see it...

I have a layout for Ancient Remains with a bunch of teslas scattered around it that does it to me pretty damn often. That has the lava particles too, for what it's worth.

I'm hoping that it's fixed in SVN so I don't see it anymore, since I've just made myself an SVN client and now I'll be playing on PT with the new cgame courtesy of semipure, so between the two it should be good. Smiley

Okay, after a lot of thinking Wireddd thought it might be caused by players on slot 0. We changed it by making everything start at slot 1, with this simple fix we tried. Any better ideas? I haven't gotten the chance to duplicate the causes of the zap bug (as there are no known ones).

Here is some screenshots to those who are interested:

When all of these took place, someone was on slot 0.

Wire was attempting to make the adv. dretch green like how it is in the title screen of Tremx. Just ignore this, I spend most of my ingame time on Tremx-KoR.
