ATCS is about the only map I have ever done it on. I generally would not recommend it when fleeing since it gives the humans an extra second or two to pound you while you are midair.

In my first example, it can be helpful because it quickly puts you up on the grate.

Was the map you were talking about cerberus?

I think he's talking about Arachnid2. That grate thing goons always jump on to heal and hide.

Handy to get a dretch to H base on ATCS really fast Wink  Tip jump, land on the parts that stick out on either side of the center stairs and jump (I usually land on the slanted sections), maintaining your forward momentum and you'll land in the doorway of the human base.

I also use that when a rifle is camping that doorway from above.  Tip jump straight up over their head.  They look around while you head bite them from above  Cheesy  Occasionally my aim is good enough to land on top of them.

If you climb a near vertical slope that ends with a flat top, then jump at just the right time as you're passing the top edge, you can get monstrous hight + some forward velocity.

Example: stacks of boxes with that grate thing overhead, where goons hide. You know on that map where the humans move their base up or under the stairs and aliens don't get a good base move. Anyway.

You run at the stack of boxes, hit wallclimb. As you reach the top and "tip over," try jumping. It might take a few attempts, but if done right, you go flying like crazy. You can actually _easily_ land on that top grate thing. From a third person perspective, it's like you have wings.

It is also possible to do the same trick on that other map. You know, with the two bases, the hall, and that big random building in the middle? With the stairs? Kind of yellow-ish? Big blue energy field? Yeah, anyway. You can do this trick on the middle thing as you climb up its wall.

I'm terming this "the tipping jump" -- wallwalking kind of tips over, then you jump.

I've scored many a headbite using this tactic.

On karith there is a secret ladder that you can get to by crouch jumping of the rail.

Secret-ish... It's kind of in plain sight. People just don't think to do it. But then again, going up there isn't all that useful.

How's this for a secret/special tactic:

http://elarned.co.uk/nexus6-psaw-trick.dm_69

Two points:
1. I'm not sure exactly how you do it but you can drop down the side of that pipe on nexus such that you don't take any fall damage when you hit the ground
2. It's possible to get up to both egg ledges from the floor in s1 Smiley
This is by far the fastest way to kill them, if you can pull it off (to be honest, that demo was something like my tenth recording attempt Tongue)

The way to do this is hit the pipe near the top, but not the flat part. It can take alittle practice, but once you get used to where this "sweet spot" is, it's simple to repeat.

I made a demo, I'll upload later.
