I know it's kinda resurrecting a dead topic, but I liked it, so here's my MESSY DESKTOP!

(Click for larger version)

(I do have Ubuntu as well, but it's not that messy/interesting).

Burn in necrohell!

A large screen resolution gives you the right to have a messy desktop.

That's possibly the cleanest / nicest looking one I've seen so far. In both the Trem.net and the MG.net desktop threads.

I really really like your desktop Navi.

If I had a desktop computer running linux, I'd like to think I would have a huge screen and it be completely minimalistic and sweet looking like yours.

Nice Desktop Moparx.

But Navi's is more interesting to me because he runs a bunch of software which I don't think I know.

Navi, care to list off what all the software is? Please, please.

I like your color scheme, Moparx.  I used to have something like that.

Openbox is the WM, tint2 as my taskbar, trayer for my system tray, a script piping mpc output into dzen for my music info bar (mpd playing mah music), weechat for IRC, tinyfugue for MUD fun, and transmission for my torrents.

Excellent, playing Jonathan Coulton! (Some (very few) of the lyrics are not work safe, or appropriate for young folks)

Love his stuff.  Particularly 'Code Monkey.'  There is a new subculture surfacing that seems to exhalt nerds.  I love it!

No, I mean which program are you using for your terminal? It looks like it can organize things in a tiling wm way, which seems interesting.

>_>

Weechat (irrsi as well) and screen can have split buffers.  I'm just using weechat's buffer splitting feature in that screenie.  There's dvtm if you want console tiling past the splits that screen offers.  It's dwm-like.

Ah, yes, screen, that would do it. Never was a huge fan of screen's splitting, but I suppose it's a good idea. Thank you Smiley
