yeah, I'll play around with it, and I didn't mean any disrespect, but I can see how I looked like an asshole.  It's a nice texture, and I hope it'll be in 1.2.  I'm relatively new to modding, and I know jpgs can't handle transparency, but is there a way I could make a skin for dretches, tyrants etc. that are translucent in parts? I might even learn to make shaders, and if things go drastically far, I might learn *shudder* blender.

1) texturing is not modeling
2) no offense meant or taken
3) trem textures are tga, not jpg
4) yes to translucency, I'm pretty sure.
5) blender is damn hard; I know it.

once I saw a translucent skin for jedi academy, a quake 3 based game.  I tried to get tremulous to use tgas for skins, but nothing really came of it. But yeah, comparing the your creep to the old creep, your creep looks much better.  Maybe it will be added in 1.2, maybe it won't.  I wonder if k-otic's hud will be used with 1.2, but that's getting off topic...

Oticz is pretty much the only one that works in 1.2 so far...

I hope that his does get used, though Jex + Kev have been threatening to make the 1.2 HUD for a while. It's pretty, but I like Oticz more.

IMO Oticz shouldn't be used.
Maybe get him to make one, but as it stands his is crippled by the need to work within the pure check.
For 1.2 you can add new code and new art, so can make something much better, and much less hacky.

No, but you can decide what is pure and what isn't, because new data pk3s will be made.

Wait, are you talking about making the UI in Trem 1.2 unchangeable? Or do you mean that the UI currently isn't capable of going within a PK3. I'm guessing the latter. Wow we got off topic quick!

The Creep looks good. I'd like to see a random choice between multiple creeps personally, I think it would add the most variety (which we need).

The pure system ensures that the client is running the same pk3s as those on the server, which on 1.1 servers are those pk3s from stock 1.1.

There will be new pk3s that come with stock 1.2, which will become the new standard.

Thus, when designing 1.2 there is the freedom to design new elements without worrying about purecheck because it's deciding the new standard that will be enforced.
