Shocked that's a lot of commands.
Well, SVN isn't about to run out, anyway.

Yes, but if you think about future... it's not enough. And it's not because it's enough to current SVN it's enough for contributors patches. There is *many* contributors and many patches in tremulous server side. It could be good for dev to think about work of their contributors and make task more easy to make custom tremulous server.

With better flags managment, it will be sure there will not be flag conflicts.

I come from Britain and unlagged compensates just fine for me, but I suppose others may not be so lucky. This is a good idea.

What about svn anonymous acces to get sources and set up server ?

Share affects everyone, and affects gameplay. If you can share your whole noob team up to tyrants then how is the other noob team supposed to get any kills? Share causes the problems it tries to solve.

Oh sorry, you're right. But anyway I think share less affect gameplay than a ALIEN_VALUE_MODIFIER modification Smiley
And share is fun and friendship option. Set it on or off by cvar is good, so it will be admin choice to make a fun and friendship server or serious and fully balanced server.

But the point is you can't ever guarantee that PMs are not being read (try setting the developer cvar to 1, for example)

Sure, tremulous is a free game, and in any case PM can be read by administrator.

But... It's bad a bad thing to aimbot, but people can aimbot because tremulous is a free game. It's not why developpers must add aimbot in tremulous client.

Official client/server (and unofficial too ^^) must show exemple. If they do a things, most part of user will use it.

If you want to come up with a better name, please do so.

How about /whisper (with a /w alias) ?

It's not the official devs' job to make things easier for modders, no. Most of the people who've touched the Tremulous code have done more harm to it than good. Trem is a better game when the level of knowledge required to screw with it prevents most people who're too young and immature to handle it from getting to.

You are doing your players a disservice by telling them that their private messages will not be logged on your patchset.  People will say they are using your patchset but disable that aspect and monitor/log anyways.  Anyone playing on those servers will have an elevated, and false belief that private messages are actually private.  You can speak of semantics all you want, unintentionally naming something "private" and fooling children into thinking that "internet privacy" actually exists is much less offensive than telling them that it actually is private, when it still isn't private.

"Private" refers to scope within the game.  A private message is sent to who you send it to, not specifically your team or the whole server, but ALL information is logged.  Telling a player anything but that encourages players to say even more embarrassing and personal things in a format that is not appropriate for such info as it can and will be logged.

Private refers to scope.  My health is private, but that doesn't mean that I don't tell my doctor.  Though I only tell my doctor, that doesn't mean that the nurses at the hospital don't know, or can't find out.  Don't tell people that the nurses (or operators) can't find out when they can.
