I haven't been there for a long while, but yeah, the major complaints are:

  - Closed source modifications that suck
  - Really bad head administration (see why NULL is now on PT instead of DS)
  - Servers that are way too large.

They're the Yahoo to our Google, really. The people who use them might be okay (though they were as nooby as old SST last I visited). Anyhow, yes, they are the official rivals. But on the other hand, we don't want them gone altogether. They absorb all lot of the crap and let the distilled juice trickle down into PT. We have the better / more skilled players, I think, and a better forum.

Theirs a lot of nice people playing Tremulous but the bad ones (mostly newer players)-(Noobs) will rune a game even if there's nice people playing. Just ask for help and I'm sure 4/5 people would help you if they can.

Well, SST never really had anyone worthwhile to begin with. The "pros" that did play there did so simply so that they could killwhore times infinity. Also, MG has been running servers pretty much since we were formed, which is almost two years ago now, so though we haven't had it named Pure Tremulous the whole time, we've been there, offering more or less what we do now in terms of administration quality. Certainly our server horsepower has gone up.

On one of my last games on DS, the admins were fighting in public chat and repeatedly abusing their powers. After that, I have almost never played there again.
